Bowman Field, established in 1919, is one of the longest continuously operating, general aviation airports in the United States. It is conveniently located approximately five miles from downtown Louisville, KY. Bowman Field is situated on 426 acres. There are 17 buildings, including the historic art deco Administration Building that was built in 1929.

Airfield Information

Aircraft operations (take offs and landings) totaled 72,262 in 2013. Weight Limit: 30,000 lbs.

As of December 4, 2013, nighttime instrument approaches for Runway 24 have been restored as a result of the LRAA working closely with the FAA’s Flight Procedures Office.

The airport consists of 2 runways. Runway lengths are as follows:
