SDF Tours Program

Welcome to the SDF Tours Program!

SDF Tours invites area students and youth to visit the Louisville Muhammad Ali International Airport (SDF) where they will learn about the airport’s purpose, its operations and the overall aviation industry. This Program allows youth to gain an understanding about the airport’s inner workings and the variety of career paths that are associated with it including aviation management, engineering, law, business, communications, maintenance, law enforcement and more.

While the SDF Tours Program was developed in partnership with The Academies of Louisville at JCPS, it can easily be tailored to a school’s or group’s specific interest related to aviation management or airport operations. Typically, educational tours and time on the airfield to plane spot are aimed for school-age youth and last approximately two-hours; however, this can be shortened to meet schedule requirements for an individual school or group.

How to Request a Tour of SDF

Use the calendar below to self-request your preferred date and time for a tour. Once you have submitted your tour request, a member of the SDF Team will contact you to confirm. (Tours are not confirmed until you are contacted by a member of the SDF Team.) Please note, lunch is not provided as part of the SDF Tours Program.

It is recommended that all tour attendees are at least of school-age and the group size does not exceed more than 50 including youth and chaperones. If you have a group that is younger than school age, or exceed 50 people, please contact SDFTours@FlyLouisville.com to discuss your request.

If you have questions or would like to inquire about specific tour date not listed, please contact SDFTours@FlyLouisville.com.
