Reports and Statistics

For information pertaining to Louisville’s airports, The Airport Authority provides detailed monthly and annual reports to keep the community informed and up-to-date.

Economic Impact

Louisville Muhammad Ali International Airport (SDF) and Bowman Field Airport (LOU) make up the largest employment center in Louisville Metro. When we grow that means additional jobs, payroll, business expenditures, construction projects, and generating additional local and state tax revenues for the region.

Louisville’s airports drive business and fuel the economy by helping retain and attract business, conventions and tourists. SDF and LOU provide access to world markets overnight and connect passengers to world destinations quickly.

In 2018, Louisville’s airports generated recurring economic impacts of:

  • $10.4 billion in total economic impact
  • Nearly 83,000 jobs or 1 in 8 jobs in Louisville Metro
  • More than $454.1 million in state and local taxes, meaning nearly $1 in every $7 in Louisville Metro tax revenue
