Due to the closure of the interstate from Dixie Highway and I-65 (mile points 7.4 to 12.0) for pavement repairs by the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet, the Louisville International Airport will not be accessible from eastbound I-264 (Watterson Expressway) beginning at 10 p.m. on Friday, September 28 through 6 a.m. on Monday, October 1. To access the airport from eastbound I-264 (Watterson Expressway) motorists should follow the marked detour route:
• I-264 (Watterson Expressway) west to I-64 east to I-65 south to I-264 (Watterson Expressway) west
• To access the airport from I-65 south, motorists may use exit 131B or exit 132 for Crittenden Drive Airport access from I-65 north and southbound will not be affected by this closure.
Travelers are encouraged to leave earlier than normal for the airport so they can still arrive at the passenger terminal 90 minutes before their flights’ scheduled departure time.
