Construction Advisory
April 6, 2012
On Monday, April 16, Strawberry Lane from Allmond Ave. South to Rochester Drive North will be closed for approximately three weeks so that a new roadway can be built over the CSX railroad tracks connecting the Airport Industrial Center to Louisville International Airport. This new roadway is part of Phase 1 of the Crittenden Drive Relocation Project—funded by $5 million from the Commonwealth of Kentucky and $6 million from the Louisville Redevelopment Authority.
Construction on Phase I began in summer 2011 and should be finished mid-summer 2012. The relocation of Crittenden Drive is necessary so that Taxiway A at Louisville International Airport can be completed, allowing the airport to accommodate Group VI aircraft—the largest and newest long-range commercial aircraft.
