Evans Elected Vice Chair

Mary Rose Evans was recently elected as the vice chair of the Louisville Regional Airport Authority Board of Directors, the first woman to be an officer of the Board. Ms. Evans was appointed to the Board in 2002, and currently serves as the Mayor for the City of Parkway Village. She has been involved with airport noise issues at the local, regional and national level for many years.

Since 1996, she has been the president of the Airport Neighbors’ Alliance Inc. and is the vice president of the National Organization to Insure a SoundControlled Environment (N.O.I.S.E.) and is the Authority’s representative on the Community Noise Forum. She was the recipient of the 2014 Community Noise Forum’s FlyQuiet Award. A former social worker for the Kentucky Department of Human Resources, Ms. Evans remains involved in a variety of community service roles in addition to her service on the Airport Authority Board of Directors.

She is the vice president of the Jefferson County League of Cities Board of Directors and a board member for the St. Joseph Area Association. In addition, she serves on the Metro Council District 10 Advisory Board and is a member of the Louisville Nature Center and KY K9 Search and Reunite.
