Louisville Muhammad Ali International Airport to Host Second Global Entry Enrollment Event

April 3, 2023

The Louisville Muhammad Ali International Airport (SDF) will host its second Global Entry enrollment event, due to the overwhelming success the event held in March. The second enrollment event will be Monday, April 24 through Friday, April 28. There will be varying appointments with U.S. Customs and Border Protection officials throughout the week, although the majority will be during during normal business hours.

Global Entry is offered through the U.S. Customs and Border Protection Trusted Traveler Programs. It allows pre-approved travelers to expedite their entry into the United States with automated kiosks that streamline the arrival process. Other benefits include no processing lines, no paperwork, access to expedited entry benefits in other countries, reduced wait times and TSA Preü eligibility.

All international gateway airports that have nonstop service to Louisville Muhammad Ali International Airport currently offer Global Entry kiosks for travelers.

The temporary Global Entry Enrollment Center will be located on the ticketing level, immediately behind the Spirit Airlines ticket counter in the terminal. Applicants should follow the signs to the temporary enrollment center.

Applications for Global Entry must first be completed online through the Trusted Traveler Programs portal at https://ttp.cbp.dhs.gov. Any questions about the online application or its process should be directed to U.S. Customs and Border Protection. All applicants are strongly encouraged to have an appointment as a limited amount of walk-up appointments may be accepted based on availability at the SDF temporary enrollment event.

Applicants must bring a valid U.S. passport and another form of ID, such as a driver’s license, to the in-person enrollment interview.

IMPORTANT – Travelers must be conditionally approved prior to the in-person enrollment interview at SDF. Conditional approval can take several weeks. Because of this, interested applicants are encouraged to begin the online enrollment process immediately.

How to Apply for Global Entry

  1. Create a Trusted Traveler Program (TTP) account at https://ttp.cbp.dhs.gov/. Regardless of age, individuals must have their own TTP account.
  2. Log into the TTP account and complete the application. A $100 non-refundable fee is required with each application.
  3. S. Customs and Border Protection will then accept and review each application for conditional approval. The applicant will be notified when they are conditionally approved and will then be provided a link to schedule the in-person interview to complete the enrollment process. Each applicant must schedule a separate interview.
    • Please note, when making an appointment for the temporary enrollment center at the Louisville airport, applicants will need to choose Louisville as the enrollment location.

Note: The temporary location at the Louisville airport can only be chosen by an applicant who has been conditionally approved and is attempting to schedule the final step in the process. It will not appear in a search for a general enrollment center.
