Delta Announces New Nonstop Service to New York’s JFK
December 20, 2011
Building on Delta Air Lines’ recent announcement of new nonstop jet service between Louisville and New York’s LaGuardia Airport, the airline has announced plans to further expand access to New York City by offering daily nonstop jet service to its growing international hub at New York’s JFK International Airport. The new service, which will begin on July 11, 2012, will provide travelers with easy access to New York and dozens of domestic and international destinations.
This new service is part of a significant expansion of flights from New York City by Delta and the opening of the airline’s expanded Terminal 4 at JFK in spring 2012. This announcement is in addition to the airline’s plans to add two new daily flights to LaGuardia airport beginning March 25, 2012. The new service will be operated by Delta Connection carrier Chautauqua Airlines using 50-seat jet aircraft. “We applaud Delta’s commitment to the Louisville market and the significant enhancement of service to the New York City area.
With 22 daily flights to six nonstop destinations – including two major New York area airports – Delta is connecting our region to the world,” said Skip Miller, Executive Director of the Louisville Regional Airport Authority. With this announcement, Delta Air Lines will offer daily nonstop jet service to Atlanta, Detroit, Memphis, Minneapolis, New York-LaGuardia and New York-JFK.
