Louisville International Airport Draft Noise Exposure Map Update – Public Review

The Louisville Regional Airport Authority (LRAA) has developed a draft update to its Noise Exposure Map for Louisville International Airport in accordance with Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) guidelines, known as Part 150. Part 150 is a voluntary federal program administered by the FAA that sets guidelines for aircraft noise exposure, and in establishing programs to minimize incompatibilities with surrounding land uses. The Draft Noise Exposure Map and accompanying documentation are being made available for public review beginning Friday, November 4, 2016 for 30 days (Saturday, December 3, 2016) at the following locations:

• Louisville Free Public Library – Main Branch (301 York Street, Louisville, KY)

• Airport Administrative Offices (During normal business hours Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Call 502-363-8516 for an appointment.)

The public is invited to review the documents and provide written comments during this review period. Written comments can be submitted to Noise/Environmental Programs Coordinator Bob Slattery at:

In addition, a Public Workshop will be held on Tuesday, November 29, 2016 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Fourth Presbyterian Church (3016 Preston Hwy, Louisville, KY). The public is invited to review the map and other displays in an open house format and ask questions regarding the Part 150 process at the Airport. A short presentation summarizing the process and results will take place at 5:30 p.m. The public will have the opportunity to provide any written comments (or oral comments to a court recorder).
