Louisville International Terminal Enhancement Construction Update 11/21/16

November 21, 2016

Construction will continue throughout the Thanksgiving Holiday on the $9.5 million Louisville International Airport Terminal Enhancement Project. As part of this, HSM Host (food-and-beverage) and Paradies Lagardère (gift-and-news) are investing more than $8 million combined in new outlets and retail stores. Before the security checkpoint (landside terminal), travelers and other airport guests can visit the recently opened Comfy Cow, as well as retail stores Churchill Downs, Kentucky Bourbon Trail, Louisville Slugger and TODAY. Also, Chili’s Bar & Grill recently reopened after the security checkpoint (airside terminal) in Concourse A.

Before the Security Checkpoint (Landside Terminal)

Work is now complete on improvements to the four center escalators that connect the departures (upper) and arrivals (lower) levels. All escalators, center stairs and the center elevator are open and available for use. All terrazzo floor work before the security checkpoint is also complete.

After the Security Checkpoint (Airside Terminal) – Rotunda

The Brighton Collectibles, Distillery District Marketplace and Finish Line News retail stores in the airside rotunda remain closed and are scheduled to open later this year. In addition, a temporary Starbucks kiosk is located near the entrance of Concourse B as work continues on Starbucks Evenings. Note: Temporary construction signs are installed throughout the terminal to direct guests during the construction project—which should be finished in late 2016.
