Southwest Airlines to Resume Daily, Nonstop Service to Dallas-Love Field

March 7, 2024

Travelers at the Louisville Muhammad Ali International Airport (SDF) will have another option to reach the Lone Star State when Southwest Airlines resumes daily, nonstop service to Dallas-Love Field (DAL) beginning Thursday, October 3. Dallas ranks as Louisville’s seventh largest market from SDF with more than 450 passengers flying between the two cities each day.

“The positive momentum continues following our record-setting year at SDF,” said Dan Mann, Executive Director of the Louisville Regional Airport Authority. “Thanks to this news from Southwest, they are strengthening their presence and investment in our market to give the region’s travelers even more options. This further solidifies what we believe will be another busy year at SDF.”

Southwest has offered weekend-only nonstop service to Dallas-Love Field from Louisville for more than two years. In October, the daily flights between Dallas and Louisville will be aboard Boeing 737s aircraft with 143 or 175 seats.

Southwest serves 12 destinations from Louisville with 19 daily departing flights. In addition to Dallas-Love Field, Southwest also offers nonstop service to Atlanta, Baltimore, Chicago-Midway, Denver, Fort Lauderdale, Fort Myers, Houston-Hobby, Las Vegas, Orlando, Phoenix and Tampa. Southwest has served Louisville for nearly 31 years and employees more than 100 people locally at SDF.
