August 11, 2011
Vision Airlines has announced that it will begin low-fare, nonstop air service between Louisville International Airport (SDF) and Punta Gorda/Ft. Myers, FL (PGD) and Orlando/Sanford, FL (SFB). The airline will offer two departures a week to each destination using 148-seat, Boeing 737 aircraft. Flights to Punta Gorda/Ft. Myers begin December 19, and service to Orlando/Sanford begins December 24. (This announcement is in addition to Vision’s plans to add new low-fare nonstop service from Louisville to Grand Bahama Island beginning November 3.)
“We are pleased to continue to grow our business in Florida by offering additional flights from Louisville. Nonstop flights to popular winter destinations such as Punta Gorda/Ft. Myers and Orlando/Sanford have been among the most requested routes by our customers, “said David Meers, Senior Vice President and COO of Vision Airlines. Skip Miller, Executive Director of the Louisville Regional Airport Authority added, “We are excited that Vision Airlines continues to add new service with low fares from Louisville to the region’s most requested vacation destinations.
Since December 2010, Vision has announced new low-fare service to Atlanta, Destin/Fort Walton Beach, Fort Lauderdale and Grand Bahama Island— and now to Punta Gorda/Ft. Myers and Orlando/Sanford. We look forward to working with Vision as we continue to make traveling from Louisville easier and more affordable.”
