Lynch Named Airport Board Member of the Year

Phil Lynch, Chairman of the Louisville Regional Airport Authority (LRAA) Board, was recently named 2011 Airport Board Member of the Year of a commercial service airport by the Kentucky Department of Aviation. The award is given to individuals who demonstrate a dedication to aviation, an understanding of the industry and a commitment to improving airport facilities. His nominator, Skip Miller, Executive Director of the LRAA, noted, “During his tenure on the Board and in leadership roles prior to that, Mr. Lynch has put his stamp on virtually every aspect of the LRAA. Under Mr. Lynch’s leadership, the Authority has taken steps to put the new infrastructure in place to accommodate Group VI aircraft (the largest and newest long-range commercial aircraft)—preparing the airport for 21st century aviation needs and helping our community retain and attract aviation-related companies and jobs.”

Mr. Lynch was appointed to the Louisville Regional Airport Authority Board of Directors in April 2003, elected Vice Chairman in January 2004 and appointed to his present position as Chairman in November 2009. He is Vice President, Director of Corporate Communications and Public Relations for Brown-Forman Corporation. He also is a former chairman and a current member of Louisville Region Development Board of Kentucky Educational Television and capital campaign chairman for Bunbury Theatre. He is a former board member of Maryhurst, the Louisville Science Center, and the Louisville Visual Arts Association.
