Vision Begins Low-Fare Service to Bahamas
November 3, 2011
Vision Airlines today launched ultra low-fare, nonstop air service between Louisville International Airport (SDF) and Grand Bahama Island/Freeport (FPO). The airline will operate two flights a week using 148-seat Boeing 737 aircraft. This service compliments the airline’s existing service from Louisville to Atlanta, GA, Destin/Fort Walton Beach, FL and Fort Lauderdale, FL.
“Grand Bahama Island is truly one of the jewels of the Caribbean; however, getting there has always been expensive and time consuming. With Vision Airlines’ new, low-fare flights, going to Grand Bahama Island will be easier and more affordable than ever. These new routes are consistent with Vision Airlines’ business plan of providing great, low-cost service to leisure destinations,” said David Meers, Senior Vice President and COO of Vision Airlines. Skip Miller, Executive Director of the Louisville Regional Airport Authority, added, “We are certainly pleased that Vision Airlines has chosen Louisville as a key city in its network.
Since December 2010, Vision has announced new, ultra low-fare service to Atlanta, Destin/Fort Walton Beach, Fort Lauderdale and the Bahamas. In addition, next month the airline will launch new service to two more destinations – Orlando/Sanford, FL and Fort Myers/Punta Gorda, FL. We look forward to working with Vision as we make traveling from Louisville easier and even more affordable.” With this announcement, Louisville International Airport’s eight major airlines will offer service to 28 nonstop destinations and convenient connecting service to hundreds of cities worldwide.
