The impact an airport has on a community goes beyond creating jobs and helping people get where they want to go. From takeoff to touchdown, the noise it generates can truly affect the day-to-day lives of the surrounding community. That’s why the Louisville Regional Airport Authority (LRAA) is working hand-in-hand with the community to make strides for a better tomorrow.
Working together to monitor the implementation of the Noise Compatibility Program, the Louisville Regional Airport Authority formed the Community Noise Forum (CNF), made up of designated representatives from all airport stakeholders, including:
The LRAA’s Board of Directors, LRAA Management, Louisville Air Traffic Control staff, Louisville Airport Affairs Committee, Kentucky Air National Guard, United Parcel Service, General Aviation community at SDF, University of Louisville, Louisville Metro Government, Airport Neighbors’ Alliance (ANA), Southern Indiana and community representatives from each quadrant bounding the airport.
All Community Noise Forum meetings are free and open to the public. Typically held every fourth Monday of the month at 6 p.m. at the LRAA Administration Building, 700 Administration Drive, east of the passenger terminal. The next meeting is Monday, September 21, 2020, we hope to see you there!
Due to COVID-19, the CNF Meeting scheduled for Monday, September 21, 2020 at 6 p.m. will be held remotely via video teleconference using ZOOM.
If you would like information on how to access the meeting,
please contact Bob Slattery at (502) 363-8516.
For questions, or to confirm a meeting date, contact the Airport Authority’s Noise Officer Bob Slattery at 502-363-8516 or email firstname.lastname@example.org.
Thanks to Louisville Muhammad Ali International Airport’s Internet Flight Tracking System, you can now view, in real-time and in replay mode, the movement of flights and air traffic patterns within the Louisville Region.
Residents of airport communities can now arm themselves with the latest flight information technology, familiarizing themselves with the use of their airspace as it relates to their homes. SDF’s flight tracking system is part of a broader attempt at open communication in the community.
